Frequently Asked Questions

asked and answered by us.
Question
Can you do this program more than 3-days per week?
Answer - Yes. The 3-days per week is just a recommendation. Ideally,
this type of training should be how you would warm-up before playing a round of
golf or hitting golf balls on the range.
Question
I am having problem viewing the videos?
Answer - The Swingnature portal uses SilverLight technologies from
Microsoft to deliver video content. You need to make sure that this application
is installed on your computer. Go to http://www.silverlight.net/getstarted to install
SilverLight. Once installed, make sure that you can view the sample videos on their
web site. After installed, close your browser, clear the cache, and re-login to
My.Swingnature.com.
When you access the training programs landing page, you should see the video player.
If you do not, make sure that SilverLight is installed properly and working. If
you still have issues, please fillout a support ticket and we will contact you directly
to try and help you resolve the issue.
Question
Can you still use this program if you cannot hit golf balls?
Answer - Absolutely. Our offices are located in Toronto, Ontario,
Canada and in the winter months we still train with our Swingnature while not being
able to hit golf balls on a regular basis. Since we are in a colder climate, we
recommend spending more time on fundamentals (grip, club face position, swing plane)
while practicing for speed.
Question
I do not understand why after going from heavy to light and then swing your golf
club (which is heavy) how you are able to attain more club head speed.
Answer - The principle is known as overload / under load or plyometric
training. The body has two types of muscles slow twitch & fast twitch.
Slow twitch muscles are big & bulky, and are designed to lift heavy weights
but move slowly. Fast twitch muscles are designed to give us speed, but tire very
quickly.
To develop these muscles, or POWER, you need to increase your strength and increase
your speed. The actual physics equation for POWER is P = Fxd/t (P = Power, F = Force,
d = distance, t = time).
Force x distance is strength, this would be like going to the gym and bench pressing
as much weight as you can. For time, you need to move the weight as fast as you
can, and you can only do this with light weights. This would be the same as bench
pressing as much weight as you can that weighs 30% of your maximum bench press.
With Swingnature we have designed a device and programs that work on developing
these two types of muscles (weight-in & weight-out). The reason that we have you
hit golf balls is to learn how to take the speed that you are building and ultimately
apply that to the golf ball. Training for speed and hitting the golf balls are two
separate activities.
